I KNOW! I'm from the "always leave them wanting more" school, and this just left me exasperated.
I'd rather have gotten brief "meanwhile, life goes on" flashes of the former companions interspersed with him regenerating, rather than his retirement tour. And really, the wrap-up of the Master/Gallifrey stuff was pretty underwhelming as well.
But I'm pretty keen on the Moffatt/11 era to come.
