Okay, maybe it's just me...

...but this just struck me as surreal.

You know that Seal song, "Kiss from a Rose"? Someone used it for their solo last night on So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and I idly started wondering why I'd never seen it vidded (granted, it's 15 years old, so maybe it was overvidded in Highlander or Xena or X-Files fandom back in the day...), and in searching YouTube I discovered that it was on the soundtrack for one of the '90s Batman movies and they made a music video of Seal singing in front of the Bat Signal interspersed with clips from the movie. And, wow:

Now I kind of wish someone would do an updated version with Christian Bale's Batman and Heath Ledger's Joker. *facepalm*

Hee, even I knew it'd been vidded.

And not only vidded, but verses from that song used to show up in custom vinyl lettering on the Hondas of the Asian custom car kids in my Bay Area neighborhood in the late 90s! That song was universally accepted as EPIC back in the day....*GRIN*

...you could vid The Matrix to that song. It would be totes temporally compatible.

See, I knew it must've been vidded, but my grasp of pre-2005 vids is seriously limited. Which mostly works out okay, because a lot of the '80s and '90s vid aesthetics have less appeal to me, but....

I think I was only listening to hip hop and some r&b when the song came out, but it was still pretty inescapable.

I think you could probably vid a lot of stuff to that song, but it would be hard to do it well.

Oh, I'm not sure what it's been vidded to in vid-culture-land, but I think of it and I think, "BATMAN!"
