So as far as wrestling goes, I haven't been much taken with WWE's current incarnation of ECW, which is really ECW in name only (wow, I sound like a disgruntled old-school Battlestar Galactica fan) compared to the original incarnation. But I did watch this week to see the (excellent) title match between Christian and Zack Ryder, and found myself drawn in by the show's theme song.

It's called Don't Question My Heart (link to YouTube). Now, I've barely made any progress on my alleged first vid yet, but this song really speaks to my inner Lord King Bad Vidder. The only problem is that it's suitable for so many shows and characters -- how to choose just one?

So listen to the song, and tell me which vid you see in your head.

It's, um...very earnest. *cough*

I saw a wrestling poster on the library bulletin board which included a pair of very, very camp gentlemen who tag-team as "The Domestic Partners," complete with air-brushed t-shirts with each other's faces cartooned on them. It was really kind of impressive.

What can I say? Earnest is my kryptonite.

I suspect the poster you saw is a clever fiction, or else a local promotion, but you never know -- Google was no help, as "domestic partners" are apparently something that many courts and legislative bodies are "wrestling" with.

Oh, it's entirely local. They're doing something at the fairgrounds, I think. The Domestic Partners vs. the somebody elses, and a bunch of other guys in little shorts.

Well, better wrestlers than cage matches, is what I say. I really don't approve of cage matches at the county fairgrounds. Maybe that's old-fashioned of me, but so be it.

ETA: See, I didn't just imagine it. Though apparently they're at the sports center in Springfield, not the fairgrounds.

Oh, that's excellent. We didn't have that at the county fair where I grew up. Or cage matches, for that matter. Though wrestling has cage matches too -- they're the main attraction for the next big WWE event, called Hell in a Cell. Which really doesn't have that county fair ring to it....

Yeah, this looks very, very earnest indeed. Not really my thing, but I am totally entertained by their very bad color-copied posters and the web site. They have scary wrestler names, but do not look particularly scary at all! Also they wear tiny, tiny pants! Hee.

There was a fair amount of bickering in both local papers over the whole cage match thing. Particularly after some promoters staged one in a high school gym. That...did not go over real well with a certain percentage of the taxpaying population, shall we just say.

The song is so incredibly hair-band macho grunty that I can't see a woman vidded to it, so I picked FNL because of the football players. Not that I've actually seen FNL.

If this is truly a LKBV, of course, the sky's the limit.

To me, the hair-band macho grunty factor means that it would be more interesting if the vid subject was a female character. With a standard male action hero, the lyrics could be too on the nose. I actually think Kara offers richer (or at least angstier) possibilities than Aeryn for similar reasons.

Then I salute you and look forward with interest to seeing what you make of it. (:
