If the complete record already exists in the form of the journal that you're importing, then it really becomes a question of portability, reproducibility, and redundancy. And one might argue that those are necessary conditions for the preservation of a complete record, but one might also argue that there's a competing interest in retaining some degree of individual control of one's public interactions that isn't necessarily superseded by the former.
