2. Keep counting down the hours until tonight's Pretty Little Liars after last week's amazing (and very viddable!) cliffhanger

3. Find someone to talk me out of using "Like 4chan for girls" (source) as the title of my Symposium blog post on anon culture in fandom

3b. Figure out if I even have, like, a thesis or a point or anything useful to say for said blog post

4. OMG only 6 more hours until Pretty Little Liars! (Hint: that's enough time to catch up on the first six episodes if you haven't been watching)

There's somebody on ONTD who has this mesmerizing icon, which is just Kermit the Frog nodding to his left and then Bale nodding to his right, over and over again as if in mutual baffled congratulation. It is absolutely meaningless to me and yet engrossing! I don't understand it.

In all seriousness, when cofax7 refers to attention you might not want, pesumably she means 4chan, but I also think that the title you're toying with would be wicked insulting to fandom, anons who manage not to post home addresses, women, and people with manners everywhere. So don't.

I know, I know, it's a terrible idea for a title! But since that original comment, it's like a bad song stuck in my head.

Well, technically, I've got a Muse song stuck in my head thanks to multiple viewings of one of obsessive24's vids over the last couple days, but I can't see myself using "Map of the Problematique" for a post title, even if the lyrics aren't completely irrelevant:

If you are in need of a pithy quote for a title, I recommend any of the golden nuggets to be gleaned from the anon meme itself. I've been copypastaing various as they befall my eyeballs, and I offer you:

Actually, I meant to fandom. Comparing the anons to 4chan would enrage them, and frankly they would be justified in that.

the thing is... apart from the fake essentialism, what bothers me in the (so tempting, so snappy!) title is that it makes it sound as though anonmemes are looking to imitate 4chan - which I'm simply not sure is true. you know?

We should start setting up appointments and such in the summer, if at all possible. I'll be staying with a friend who's deeeeeep in Brooklyn, iirc, and she says it takes 2 to 3 hours to go to Manhattan from her place, so I doubt I'll do it too many times... But still. Planning some time, yes.

That's okay, I figured I'd at least take an afternoon or day off work to hang out with you! I'll be around for the first half of your stay, and I'm in Manhattan, but it's really easy for me to get to Brooklyn.
